Yuli Liang

Yuli Liang is a PhD student at the Jena Graduate School "Human Behaviour in Social and Economic Change" (GSBC). She received her master degree of International Management from Royal Holloway, University of London. Her master dissertation is titled as ‘Is Sustainability an Ethical Ideal or of Business value?  Drivers, Stakeholders and Practices of Environmental Sustainability in electrical and electronics MNC.” She then worked nearly ten years in consulting and human resource management, for some global and multi-industry companies headquartered in Germany, USA, and Singapore. She is specialized in learning and talent management.

Starting as a passionate hobby, Yuli Liang is accredited with Advisor Diploma of Ikebana, by Sogetsu Foundations, Tokyo.  Her artworks and performance can be viewed at www.Yuli-Liang.comExternal link.

Her research interests lie in aesthetic creativity in widely differing domains such as visual art, workplace and public space. She is particularly drawn by the association between aesthetic means and emotions, identity and meaning. Taking interdisciplinary approach to study this process, she offers perspectives on how aesthetics is appreciated, judged and communicated to individuals, groups and organizations. Her paper of What’s been overlooked - An introspection report to systematize Creativity examines the creative process and how creativity can be trained through the lens of an introspection report of an Ikebana artist. She is currently working on a research project to examine the aesthetics and symbolism of banks’ corporate buildings.
